Brett Favre, a future First Ballot H.O.F’er has been dealt to the New York Jets for a 2009 conditional draft pick. Won’t it be weird seeing Favre in a different NFL uniform after he spent 16 years in green, yellow and white?

But, let’s make this less about the trading about Favre…but about the impact it has on both teams.

Impact on Jets: GOOD. If it wasn’t good, would they have traded for him? He helps make Thomas Jones a bigger threat on the ground and will probably make

The question now is, not whether or not he will be reinstated. But, whether or or not #4 will be wearing a green and yellow jersey or not. Tampa Bay and the Jets have permission to talk to Favre, but I’m sure the legend wants to go to an in-division contender such as the Vikes or the Bears.

Some even say that if Seattle [Matt Hasselbeck] or Philadelphia [Donovan McNabb] needed a ‘replacement’ then Favre would be sent there. Some say that Packers GM Ted Thompson will hold his ground along with Head Coach Mike McCarthy and play Aaron Rodgers. Which, in all likelihood, will cause a major uproar in the locker room. Because in any team sport, you always play the best player. You do not ever play a player that is not as good as someone else who isn’t playing.

Yes, Aaron Rodgers shouldn’t have to deal with the Favre Retirement merry-go-round each year. But, he has never started a pro game. He did, however show potential in the playoffs against the ‘Boys when Favre got hurt.

The thing with Favre is this. It’s hard for a future first ballot Hall of Famer to retire with his gas needle on 1/8.
