I am predicting the teams that make the playoffs in Oh-eight. Eight Division Champs (four to each conference) and four wildcard clinchers (two to each conference)
This year, the AFC looks really, really nasty.
AFC

San Diego Chargers (AFC West Champs)

New England Patriots (AFC East Champs)

Indianapolis Colts (AFC South Champs)

Pittsburgh Steelers (AFC North Champs)

Cleveland Browns (Wildcard)

Jacksonville Jaguars (Wildcard)
Summary: The playoffs are the same as last year, except for the Browns make the playoffs instead of the Titans (they make it as a wildcard) But the Chargers are 2008’s Patriots, making the playoffs with a 16-0 record.
NFC

Arizona Cardinals (NFC West Champs)

Dallas Cowboys (NFC East Champs)

New Orleans Saints (NFC South Champs)
Minnesota Vikings (NFC North Champs)

Green Bay Packers (Wildcard)

Philadelphia Eagles (Wildcard)
Summary: Minnesota clinches homefield advantage in the NFC Playoffs. Green Bay and Philadelphia fill in as wildcards. Arizona makes the playoffs as NFC West Champs. The Seahawks miss the playoffs. The Buccaneers miss the playoffs. The Giants, who are the defending Super Bowl champs, do not make the playoffs.
AFC Championship Game

San Diego Chargers (AFC West Champs) – 46

Pittsburgh Steelers (AFC North Champs) – 41
Summary: The Bolts and the Steelers duke it out in a heavy-weight battle on offense. The Chargers prevail, however, 46-41, to advance to the Super Bowl at a chance to become the first 19-0 NFL Team in history, and the second team to have a perfect season (Dolphins)
NFC Championship Game

Minnesota Vikings (NFC North Champions) – 28

New Orleans (NFC South Champions) – 27
Summary: The mighty Vikings beat the Saints in a NFC Championship classic, going down to the last seconds. After being down 27-20, the Vikings score with no time left on the clock with Tarvaris Jackson hooking up with Bernard Berrian on a fade to the left corner. Then, the Vikings go for two and convert on an Adrian Peterson screen to the right.
Super Bowl

San Diego Chargers (AFC Champions) – 38

Minnesota Vikings (NFC Champions) -28
Summary: San Diego and Minnesota had a dogfight in the first half, but then, the Chargers stuffed the Vikings’ run game, forcing the Vikings to go to the pass. Antonio Cromartie and Quentin Jammer kill the Vikings with a combined total of three picks.

That’s not a bad prediction, I give you A C since I don’t think Minnesota will be going to the Super bowl and I don’t think the Pats will be going to the playoffs since every dynasty has to die some time and the Pats could be up next year when age finally starts to show on their defense making their backfield and line backing corps the 2 biggest defensive disappointments in the NFL. I also think next season the AFC East is going to be a tougher devision then what everyone thinks since the Jets signed 2 key O-linemen in G-Allan Fanica and G/T-Damien Woody. And don’t forget it seems that Chad Pennington makes the playoffs every other year, because of his line getting pieces lost one year and replaced the following year. For example last season he lost Pete Kendal to free agency with the Redskins and because of that his team missed the playoffs. I also like the jets FA additions of NT-Kris Jenkins (from the Panthers) and OLB/DE-Calvin Pace from the Cardinals. And the Bills will look better with signings of DT-Marcus Stroud (from the Jags) & OLB-Kawika Michell (from the Giants) big time FA’s who have been nightmares for Tom Brady (Mitchell) and Peyton Manning (Stroud) in the past. + I think since Stroud had so many good games against Peyton when playing for the Jags, he will know what it takes to rattle the cages of Tom Brady. Also I look for Trent Edwards to possibly be the steal of last season’s draft. And the Dolphins did sign a ton of big name FA’s this season, but I don’t see them as a contender for the playoffs since they don’t have an answer at QB yet. Next season I like either the Bills or the Jets to represent the AFC East in the Playoffs.
I also wouldn’t count out the Texans and the Rams in the playoff picture both those teams are long over due to make the playoffs.
I also don’t think Aaron Rogers is a good replacement for Farve. I think he is over rated and Brian Brohm fits the Packers offensive system better at QB. So for this reason I don’t think the Packers will be going to the playoffs.
