Tennessee Screwed Up

The Titans Front Office screwed up this offseason. They were 9-7 and made the playoffs last year, despite the fact they were in the extremely tough AFC South. And they did it with no receivers. Tennessee didn’t even need a T.O or a Randy Moss or a Chad Johnson. They just needed two above average to pretty good receivers.
Tennessee was even 30+ cool mil’ under the Salary Cap. They had lots of moolah to spend.
But they screwed up. Isaac Bruce was available, Donte Stallworth was available, Bernard Berrian was available. And when they were sitting pretty in the first round of the draft at number 24. No receivers had been taken in a pretty deep WR class. But they took a projected 2nd-rounder in Chris Johnson. Chris Johnson was a RB who ran a 4.21 at the NFL Combine. But he’s not a RECEIVER. And plus, LenDale White is a very fine young RB.
Tennessee could have had a Top 5 WR Corps this year if they had signed Isaac Bruce, signed Donte Stallworth, and taken a receiver in the draft. But they didn’t. They didn’t help Vince out other than they signed Alge Crumpler. They didn’t even try. They didn’t have bad luck, they screwed Vince Young.
They already have a great defense, but the passing attack is weak. They could’ve upgraded it, but they didn’t. It’s sad. I feel for VY. He will never live up to his potential all because the GM in Tennessee didn’t help the most important player in that franchise. Whoever the hell he is, he should get his ass fired.
Maybe next year Vince. But, don’t count on it.

The only explanation I could come up with is that maybe they’re waiting for a better selection of WR’s to come along. But yeah, they should at least draft someone, the free agent crop is good but could be better, Bruce was a great receiver and is still pretty solid, but his best days are behind him. And I think Stallworth is a better receiver when there are other big playmakers around him much like last year with New England. Young is a solid talent, but he needs more help.
